Interview Process
The recruiting process for Associate, Senior and Managing consultants consists of two rounds of interviews. The process begins with a review of resumes received via on-campus resume drop or our web site. The first round interview is typically 45 minutes long and may take place on campus or by telephone. During this interview, we will answer your questions about Kaiser, get to know you, and evaluate your experience and potential fit with Kaiser.
If Kaiser invites you to a second-round interview, you will be invited to visit our office. This interview includes four elements: meeting with Kaiser Consultants and officers, a writing sample, an assessment of analytical thinking skills and a discussion of case studies. For an example of a typical Kaiser case interview, as well as tips on how to master the case, CLICK HERE (PDF). The second-round interview takes approximately one full day and is designed to simulate the types of problems and skills inherent in management consulting and to test the qualitative and quantitative skills deemed important for abstract thinking in a business setting. Our Recruiting Committee considers all candidates and will respond to candidates within two weeks of the interview.
The Kaiser Case Study
One of the best ways we can assess your problem-solving skills is to discuss a typical business issue with you. This is done through a case interview.
During the case interview, you will be assessed more on your ability to logically approach the issue and provide a compelling argument for your approach than on the specific answer you come up with. Your approach to the case and the insights you drive will help us to better assess your potential as a Consultant at Kaiser Associates.
In order to help you prepare for the case interview, we are providing some key tips on how to crack a case as well as a sample case that we used in prior interviews. Please CLICK HERE (PDF) to view our example case and tips on how to approach case studies.
