What to Expect as a Kaiserite

Onboarding

Your Onboarding Advisor (OA) is your first touchpoint as a new hire at Kaiser. OAs are a great resource to support and guide you as you get up to speed on firm knowledge, skills, procedures, and resources. Throughout your first day and first weeks at Kaiser, you’ll be set up for success by going through our comprehensive onboarding training.

Mentorship Program

Every Kaiserite is also assigned a formal mentor for the duration of their time at the firm. Your mentor serves as a resource for your questions, a sounding board, and a guide for your career development. As you grow, you’ll have the opportunity to serve as a mentor and pass your knowledge on to more junior team members.

Diverse Experiences

You’ll have the opportunity to build a diverse skill set quickly through exposure to different industries, functions, and project types. Our staffing model allows you to work across our 6 practices and ensures you gain a variety of experiences before making the decision to align with a particular Practice.

A Closer Look at a Typical Project

Key Associate Consultant & Consultant responsibilities:

  • Conducts key research workstreams to answer client questions / hypotheses and business challenges
  • Completes relevant research within expected timelines, proactively informing the project lead on progress
  • Uses a wide array of research methods, which may include interviews, electronic surveys, syndicated data analysis, etc.
  • Demonstrates comfort and familiarity with Excel, using an array of quantitative modeling techniques (e.g., market sizing, forecasting, P&L analysis)
  • Produces high quality written deliverables across relevant presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, e-mails, reports)
  • Listens to clients and teammates effectively; actively and constructively participates in internal team meetings

Key Manager responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple engagements from start to finish, including setting project schedules, guiding team members, and interacting directly with clients
  • Leads small project teams of consultants, providing direction and coaching to help the team complete research and prepares documentation for client presentations
  • Facilitates client meetings and asks powerful questions that lead to new client insights
  • Maintains project performance metrics and adjusts as necessary to ensure delivery within established targets
  • Supports and contributes to the business development lifecycle by delivering high-quality work to existing clients and establishing client relationships

Key Principal responsibilities:

  • Balances day-to-day responsibilities between project management, project delivery, and business development
  • Synthesizes and builds on the work of the team to produce even more powerful/actionable conclusions and even higher-value solutions/recommendations
  • Designs and guides strategic discussions with key project stakeholders to gather information, build understanding, and agree on next steps
  • Develops intellectual capital, new capabilities, and subject matter expertise that supports business development opportunities
  • Helps shape Practice strategy and growth

Key VP & Partner responsibilities:

  • Builds client relationships to secure repeat work with existing and expand to new accounts
  • Progresses lead opportunities to develop compelling proposals
  • Proactively identifies follow-on opportunities for active engagements
  • Oversees final responsibility for all analyses, stakeholder interactions, and presentations
  • Provides subject-matter expertise, executive analysis, and strategic insight
  • Leads overall Practice strategy and planning (P&L, team leadership and recruiting, learning and development)
